Is it right to judge others?

When contemplating judging another person, think about how you would feel in that person’s position.

1.  What rights do you have to judge others? Only if you are completely faultless do you have the right to judge another person.  Nobody is perfect, so there is no reason to judge others when you are no better than they are.

2.  Why do you want to judge others? Oftentimes people judge others because it makes them feel better about themselves.  There are much healthier ways to feel good about yourself than to put others down.

3.  Is whatever you are judging him or her for any worse than anything you’ve ever done? Before you can take the sand out of the other person’s eye, you should remove the plank from your own eye.  Surely there are things about you they don’t like, as well.  Don’t get too full of yourself.

4.  How would you like to be judged for a similar characteristic or action? People are all unique and have vastly different personality characteristics.  Just because someone’s personality doesn’t click with you does not mean they deserve to be judged by you.

Think long and hard about yourself before you try to judge others.
