Kissing anyone can be dangerous. Kissing is addictive and can lead to other things, as well. Once you have kissed a person, you can’t take it back. Some things to consider before you decide whether or not to kiss your friend are as follows:
1. Would you be okay losing this friend? Kissing a friend sometimes ends in loss of said friendship. Things can get awkward fast, especially if you are trying to keep things a secret. Make sure you weigh the benefits against the risks.
2. What is your intention in kissing this friend? If you are just looking for a quick hook up that feels nice, it might not be worth losing that friend. Are you actually pursuing a relationship? Remember that even relationships can harm a friendship.
3. How does this friend feel about you? Kissing is a two-way street. Forcing it is never a good idea. But maybe you’re both into each other and your friendship was just a stepping stone to a healthy dating relationship.
Make sure you weigh the consequences before you kiss your friend. You may be able to go on being friends, but there is a chance that you will end up doing more than you bargained for or that you could lose this friend forever.
