In your case I would say No – he does not deserve to be dumped in person, cos he has been a cad and a liar.

But more importantly – I think you deserve to dump him in person and to (hopefully) get answers to your questions. Don’t make this easy for him – let him squirm – he has treated you badly and he deserves to hear you out.

However, what if your partner had lying tendencies when it came to meeting other women online and has relations with other women behind your back ... and finally (i) found out. Those factors plus the fact he didn't call on christmas day nor want to hang out with me on New Years Eve after a year of dating... tho he'll call me his girlfriend to my face! I finally clued in and got angry and dumped him via text message because I was fed up. Now I feel like I should have took the time to approach him in person and ask him all those questions which he'd deny and come up with a stupid excuse. When I asked him over the phone why he doesn't want to meet my family after a year of dating, he said he was driving and couldn't talk to me. He never called me back that night.
